Anaphylaxis is an acute and potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. Adrenaline is the most effective treatment for anaphylaxis, and can be life-saving. After individual patient assessment, your doctor may prescribe you with an adrenaline autoinjector to facilitate easy administration. This should be carried with you at all times and given as early as possible when there are signs of anaphylaxis – especially if you feel difficulty in breathing or lightheaded.
